Businesses that don’t claim an exemption will have to prove they offer health insurance to employees.”

Now that Congress can use the taxation power of the federal government to compel behavior or lack thereof, what’s next? More taxes if we don’t drive Toyota Priuses or if we eat too much junk food or maybe even pea soup?”

Why Central Bankers Can’t Arrest Slowdown – Yahoo   “Jian Chang, China Economist of Barclays, agrees that that further moves by central banks around the world will not be effective in spurring growth. ‘At this point, such central bank moves no long impress the market. Central banks rate cut may well be perceived as a sign of panic or desperation,’ Chang said. ‘Markets remain cautious, given the weakening growth momentum seen across the board in major economies and they doubt the effectiveness of such monetary easing may have in lifting growth.’”

But the biggest skeptics didn’t buy the good news. They blamed unusually warm weather for the better jobs statistics. And it looks like the skeptics were right, at least according to the Labor Department’s monthly unemployment report released Friday.”
