U.S. Corn-Crop Forecast Cut as Drought Dims Supply Outlook – Bloomberg  “The drought of 2012 will be one for the records,” said Peter Meyer, the senior director for agricultural commodities at PIRA Energy Group in New York, who forecasts a drop in output to 11 billion bushels if the hot, dry spell lasts another three weeks. “Whether it’s ethanol or livestock, no one is immune from this impending disaster. The ramifications will be widespread, affecting everything from your food to your gasoline.”

Disaster Declared in 26 U.S. States as Drought Sears Midwest – Bloomberg  “More than 1,000 counties in 26 states are being named natural-disaster areas, the biggest such declaration ever by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as drought grips the Midwest. The declaration makes farmers and ranchers in 1,016 counties eligible for low-interest loans to help them weather the drought and other disasters.”

Obama Bill-Paying Hoax Sweeps Up Victims Nationwide – Cleveland Plain Dealer   “A myth that President Obama is giving people money to pay their bills has prompted thousands of people across the country to try to pay for utilities, phone service and loans using bogus bank routing numbers.”  Haven’t we heard something like this four years ago? And, I would tell these people to just wait, because this obviously reflects a need for the government to step in and pay these bills.
