Lawmakers: Obama’s Plan for Internet May Be Unconstitutional – Washington Examiner  …  “President Obama’s plan to ‘internationalize’ the Internet may be unconstitutional, key members of Congress are claiming. The group of lawmakers sent a letter to the Government Accountability Office last week, saying the plan to relinquish oversight of Internet domain name functions to a global, multi-stakeholder body raised questions about the administration’s ‘authority to transfer possession and control of critical components of the Internet’s infrastructure to a third party.’ The lawmakers point out that the Constitution says ‘Congress has the exclusive power ‘to dispose of and make all needful rules and regulations respecting the territory or other property belonging to the United States.'”

Clinton Aide Shared Classified Information With Foundation, Email Shows – Washington Free Beacon  …  “A member of Hillary Clinton’s staff at the Department of State emailed classified information about the government in Congo to a staffer at the Clinton Foundation in 2012, according to a copy of the correspondence obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. Cheryl Mills, Clinton’s chief of staff at the State Department, sent the email to the Clinton Foundation’s foreign policy director, Amitabh Desai, on July 12, 2012. Although the information was not marked classified by the State Department until this past summer, intelligence sources tell the Free Beacon that it would have been classified at the time Mills sent it because ‘foreign government information’ is considered classified from inception. The message could add to concerns from congressional and FBI investigators about whether former Secretary Clinton and her aides mishandled classified information while at the State Department.”

“The State Department added that the “disclosure of this information has the potential to damage and inject friction into our bilateral relationship with African countries whose cooperation is important to U.S. national security.” The Clinton Foundation and the State Department did not respond to request for comment about the email, or say whether Desai—a non-government employee who has worked at the foundation since 2007—would have been authorized to view ‘Confidential’ information. Intelligence experts have told the Free Beacon and other media outlets that ‘foreign government information’ is one of the few categories of information that is automatically presumed classified from the time the U.S. government receives it, because it is so diplomatically sensitive.”

D.C. Schools to Teach Bike-Riding in 2nd Grade, Despite Low Reading Proficiency Rates – EAG News  …   “As student proficiency continues to languish, district officials added the requirement as part of a joint program with the District Department of Transportation and private donors, who provided 1,000 bicycles for the initiative, The Washington Post reports. The plan is to spend an hour a week for a month showing the elementary students how to ride as a memorable “cornerstone” learning experience, district officials said. The District currently boasts a growing percentage of bicycle commuters – among the top five in the country – while an opposite trend is occurring with low-income students in wards 7 and 8.”

“Overall, less than half of students in the system, 48 percent, were proficient in reading last school year, while a mere 51 percent were proficient in math. But instead of concentrating on improving those skills, D.C. students are learning the ABCs of bicycling – Air, Brakes, Chain – as part of safety lessons that also cover helmets, hand signals, proper clothing, balancing and other aspects.”
