Bill Clinton White House Suppressed Evidence of Iran’s Terrorism – Washington Times  …  Sent secret cable accusing Tehran of 1996 Khobar Towers attack, but kept it from public. Bill Clinton’s administration gathered enough evidence to send a top-secret communique accusing Iran of facilitating the deadly 1996 Khobar Towers terrorist bombing, but suppressed that information from the American public and some elements of U.S. intelligence for fear it would lead to an outcry for reprisal, according to documents and interviews. Before Mr. Clinton left office, the intelligence pointing toward Iran’s involvement in the terror attack in Saudi Arabia that killed 19 U.S. servicemen and wounded hundreds was deemed both extensive and ‘credible,’ memos show.”

“The revelations about what the Clinton administration knew are taking on new significance with the recent capture of the accused mastermind of the 1996 attack, which has occurred in the shadows of the U.S. nuclear deal with Iran. Ahmed al-Mughassil was arrested in August returning to Lebanon from Iran, and his apprehension has provided fresh evidence of Tehran’s and Hezbollah’s involvement in the attack and their efforts to shield him from justice for two decades, U.S. officials said. Director Louis Freeh told The Times that when he first sought the Clinton White House’s help to gain access to the Saudi suspects, he was repeatedly thwarted. When he succeeded by going around Mr. Clinton and returned with the evidence, it was dismissed as “hearsay,” and he was asked not to spread it around because the administration had made a policy decision to warm relations with Tehran and didn’t want to rock the boat, he said.

White House Says Obama Is Considering Executive Action On Guns – Daily Caller  …  “The White House is considering whether President Obama can take executive action to enforce stronger gun control measures, White House spokesman Joshua Earnest said on Monday. ‘The president has frequently pushed his team to consider a range of executive actions that could more effectively keep guns out of the hands of criminals and others who shouldn’t have access to them,’ Earnest said Monday. ‘That’s something that is ongoing here.’ Earnest was responding to questions from reporters following Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s announcement that she would consider executive action to expand background checks on gun buyers by closing the so-called gun show loophole.”

“Clinton’s announcement on the gun issue puts Obama in a bind. Last week, following a mass shooting at Umpqua Community College in Oregon, Obama said that he will continue to politicize the issue of gun violence in order to force Congress to enact gun control measures. ‘I don’t have anything to announce at this point, but we certainly welcome the kind of debate that Secretary Clinton is continuing,’ he said. Another reporter followed up, asserting that if executive action on guns was a possibility, ‘it would be done by now.'”

Hillary Clinton Pushes Change Allowing Shooting Victims To Sue Gun Makers In Wake Of Oregon Attack – Breitbart  …  “In the wake of the attack on Umpqua Community College (UCC) Hillary Clinton is pushing new regulations on gun shows and a change in laws allowing shooting victims and their families to sue gun manufacturers. According to NBC News, Clinton said she would propose ‘[tightening] rules governing gun show and Internet sales,’ which is a reference to the expansion of background checks that has eluded Democrats and Democrat surrogates like Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly since January 2013. Of course, the problem with this approach is that the UCC gunman passed a background check for his guns, as did almost every mass shooter of note in the last eight years. Breitbart New previously reported that The New York Times admits the clear majority of mass shooters–including Gabby Giffords’ attacker–acquire their guns via background checks.”

“So expanding background checks would have done nothing to stop the attack at UCC. But Clinton also wants to use the UCC attack as an opportunity to change the law so that shooting victims and their families can sue gun makers into oblivion. And it is crucial to note that even as Clinton proposes these controls she is going on record pledging to enact them via executive action if Congress refuses to go along with her. In other words, constitutional checks and balances be damned, Clinton will follow Obama’s lead to move her agenda forward via executive fiat when Congress does not play along.”
