The State of Our Planet Is Better Than Ever

Posted on May 4th, 2015

Climate changingBy Stephen Moore

Recently the world celebrated Earth Day and to hear the experts like Usher and Al Gore tell the story, the planet is in a miserable state. We’re running out of our natural resources, we’re overpopulating the globe and running out of room, the air that we breathe is becoming toxic, the oceans are rising and soon major coastal cities will be underwater, and the Earth is, of course, heating up, except when it is cooling down.

This is perhaps the single greatest misinformation campaign in world history. Virtually none of these claims are even close to the truth—except for the fact that our climate is always changing as it has for hundreds of thousands of years. Read More..

The Whitehouse-White House Climate Change Inquisition

Posted on May 1st, 2015

Blown forecast global warmingEDITOR’S COMMENT: Several weeks ago, Democrat Senators Sheldon Whitehouse, Barbara Boxer and Ed Markey sent Spanish Inquisition-style letters to universities that employ Dr. Willie Soon and other skeptics of the “dangerous manmade climate change” thesis, demanding information about the scientists’ funding. The senators were roundly criticized for their actions – prompting  Mr. Whitehouse to post an angry response on the Huffington Post, saying the criticism was unwarranted and unfair.

Paul Driessen’s article examines his complaints, the tenets of the climate change catechism, climatologist Judith Curry’s recent testimony before the House Science Committee, and the real problem of financial incentives and abuses in climate science: hundreds of billions of dollars spent by governments and special interest foundations to support alarmist science; bankroll renewable energy projects; further enrich billionaires like Warren Buffett, whose secretive funding of anti-pipeline campaigns means oil gets transported by his Berkshire Hathaway-owned railroad; and support reelection campaigns for political friends who keep the gravy train on-track. Earth shaking words from a giant on Wall Street.

The insiders know the next collapse is coming. What form it takes may remain a surprise to account holders and investors who are not on guard.

But JPMorgan Chase chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon is positioning his firm to pick up the pieces after it hits.

A loud warning from a person who may be considered a de facto spokesman for the insiders who prevail on Wall Street, Dimon’s comments are more than just precautionary and foreboding – they spell out the mechanism with which the big banks and the technocratic controllers will seize and concentrate power during the next crisis. Co-founder of Greenpeace Explains Why He Is a Climate Skeptic

Blown forecast global warming

By Rick Moran

Got yer dose of schadenfreud for the day right here…

The co-founder of the granddaddy of green groups, Greenpeace, explains in a Heartland editorial why he is a climate skeptic Patrick Moore, who left Greenpeace in 1986 because, in his words, it “took a sharp turn to the political left” and “evolved into an organization of extremism and politically motivated agendas,” pulls no punches when criticizing his former colleagues in the green movement:

I am skeptical humans are the main cause of climate change and that it will be catastrophic in the near future. There is no scientific proof of this hypothesis, yet we are told “the debate is over” and “the science is settled.”

The Environmental Insane Asylum

Earth day alarmism environment by Eric Allie, Caglecartoons.comEDITOR’S COMMENT: Earth Day is today, and will mark the beginning of another month-long attempt at indoctrination and propaganda on the part of the environmentalists, the Obama administration, and those, very left liberals, who want to totally control our lives. This is actually an ALERT to be prepared for this onslaught! And, here is an insightful commentary to help you keep your sense of balance during this government and media offensive.

By Alan Caruba

Earth Day was declared in 1970 and for the past 45 years we have all been living in the Environmental Insane Asylum, being told over and over again to believe things that are the equivalent of Green hallucinations. Now the entire month of April has been declared Earth Month, but in truth not a day goes by when we are not assailed with the bold-faced lies that comprise environmentalism. Read More..

Debunked Again! Obama Claims Global Warming Gave My Daughter Asthma

Obama Family in the Oval OfficeEDITOR’S COMMENT: I’m sure that by now you can immediately recognize the ongoing propaganda efforts and the falsehoods that are constantly made by our President, as soon as he starts speaking. This claim is another perfect example of his disinformation campaign, whereby he makes an untrue statement, that ‘science’ disagrees with, but he knows that his unfounded claim will still be featured by the mainstream media without any fact-checking or investigation. So, to that large group of uninformed voters, he will have succeeded in his efforts. False statements and untruths apparently don’t matter anymore! Read More..

Rain Dances in California

Obama Los Banos

EDITOR’S COMMENT: UPDATE: Yesterday, California Governor Jerry Brown ordered all cities and towns across the state to attempt to cut their water usage by 25% by imposing mandatory drought restrictions for the first time in California’s history. While this is a step in the right direction, this still leaves the bulk of water use by agriculture unaffected.

By Gilbert T. Sewall

Climate change posturing won’t provide long overdue water allocation reforms.

On February 14, 2014, President Barack Obama arrived on Air Force One in Fresno, California, with Senators Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein aboard. They helicoptered to a 30-minute community roundtable in Firebaugh, 45 miles to the west. A half-hour motorcade then moved northwest to a Los Banos field for a photo op and official televised statement.

Joined by Gov. Jerry Brown, the President linked California’s lack of rain to climate change and carbon pollution.

The Democratic entourage, ringed by Secret Service, posed in the fallow field for Associated Press and the television cameras. It had no clue how to solve California’s water problems. It could have been doing rain dances, for all the good it was doing. Read More..

EPA Wants to Monitor (Control) How Long Hotel Guests Spend in the Shower

Posted on March 20th, 2015

WAIMH Red ArrowEDITOR’S COMMENT: You may have read about this development recently, but here’s my take on it. I believe that most of us are concerned about wasting resources, such as our supply of water, and even though the EPA states that this is merely an attempt by the hotel guest to ‘monitor’ their shower water usage, you know what’s coming. Soon, these devices will be mandatory in in all our hotels, schools, gyms, and then our homes. The EPA has already invaded the areas of toilets, lighting, shower heads, hot water heaters, air conditioning, heating, lawn mowers, etc. Apparently, there is still no area that our federal government doesn’t want to be involved in, and effectively control that aspect of our lives!

By Elizabeth Harrington

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) wants hotels to monitor how much time its guests spend in the shower.

The agency is spending $15,000 to create a wireless system that will track how much water a hotel guest uses to get them to modify their behavior.”

“Hotels consume a significant amount of water in the U.S. and around the world,” an EPA grant to the University of Tulsa reads. Most hotels do not monitor individual guest water usage and as a result, millions of gallons of potable water are wasted every year by hotel guests.

The goal of the project is to change the behavior of Americans when they stay at hotels.

… The EPA is concerned that the average shower, which lasts just eight minutes, uses 18 gallons of water, and has asked Americans to reduce their shower length by at least one minute.

… The website, which is a project of the Alliance for Water Efficiency, also suggests watering plants with discarded cold water from showers that take a long time to heat up, and taking “navy showers.”

“The method requires three steps: 1) turn on water to rinse body and hair; 2) turn off water while shampooing hair and washing body with soap and washcloth; 3) resume water flow and rinse off all shampoo and soap,” the group said. “Using this technique, the total duration of water flow can easily be reduced to 5 minutes or less.”

NASA Signals Crisis: “California Has About One Year of Water Left”

Posted on March 19th, 2015

California drought map

By Max Slavo

The California drought has already been alarming enough not only for residents of the state – whose water supply was never secured, and has constantly been the source of heated controversy – but those across the country and globe who depend up on its agriculture for survival.

As SHTF reported back in November, NASA scientists have already warned that California’s groundwater supplies are at critical low points, and threatening the food supply:

A new Nature Climate Change piece, “The global groundwater crisis,” by James Famiglietti, a leading hydrologist at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, warns that “most of the major aquifers in the world’s arid and semi-arid zones, that is, in the dry parts of the world that rely most heavily on groundwater, are experiencing rapid rates of groundwater depletion.”

The most worrisome fact: “nearly all of these underlie the word’s great agricultural regions and are primarily responsible for their high productivity.”

Now, Jay Famiglietti – the same NASA hydrologist who led the previous report – is sounding an all-out alarm that California has less than one year of water remaining based on satellite image data:

Data from NASA satellites show that the total amount of water stored in the Sacramento and San Joaquin river basins — that is, all of the snow, river and reservoir water, water in soils and groundwater combined — was 34 million acre-feet below normal in 2014. That loss is nearly 1.5 times the capacity of Lake Mead, America’s largest reservoir.

Statewide, we’ve been dropping more than 12 million acre-feet of total water yearly since 2011. Roughly two-thirds of these losses are attributable to groundwater pumping for agricultural irrigation in the Central Valley. Farmers have little choice but to pump more groundwater during droughts, especially when their surface water allocations have been slashed 80% to 100%. But these pumping rates are excessive and unsustainable.

As difficult as it may be to face, the simple fact is that California is running out of water — and the problem started before our current drought. NASA data reveal that total water storage in California has been in steady decline since at least 2002, when satellite-based monitoring began, although groundwater depletion has been going on since the early 20th century.

Right now the state has only about one year of water supply left in its reservoirs, and our strategic backup supply, groundwater, is rapidly disappearing. California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain.

Famiglietti makes no hesitation in calling for mandatory water rationing and other measures to cut water uses:

First, immediate mandatory water rationing should be authorized across all of the state’s water sectors, from domestic and municipal through agricultural and industrial. The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is already considering water rationing by the summer unless conditions improve. There is no need for the rest of the state to hesitate.

And he further claims that public support, at over 94% in polls, is sufficient to support massive state intervention in residential water usage, and even back mandatory restrictions.

If the claims of California’s water shortage are not overstated for effect, it may be tough times coming for the Golden State.     (my emphasis)

Barack the Magnificent

His Kingdom Come

By Billie Blanco

Obama is a lawless leader, choosing to rule by memorandum, regulation and executive order — he is not a president; he is a king

Any treaty negotiated by a president and his minions must be approved by a two-thirds vote in the Senate. An accord bears no such restraints. The former is a legally binding agreement, whereas the latter is not. Barack Obama knows that any agreement negotiated with Iran, allowing them to continue enriching nuclear fuel for a weapon, will not pass in the Senate.

An agreement with sunset provisions, allowing Iran after a certain period of time, the option of producing weapons-grade enriched uranium to build as many bombs it desires also doesn’t stand a chance in Congress.

As a digression, the fact that Iran is the number one sponsor of terrorism worldwide and has never honored any agreement it has ever made, makes one wonder if Barry is patently naïve or simply challenged.

Yet, an accord fits the bill for what Obama wants to accomplish. It may not be legally binding and the next president can easily opt out, but for the remainder of his presidency at least, he can force America to abide by its strictures and claim he solved the “Iran problem.” As far as the next president is concerned, it will already be too late, Iran will have joined the nuclear club and the world will be at the mercy of the mullahs.

When the Shiite hits the fan, and a nuclear weapon is used on Israel or America, or perhaps Saudi Arabia, he will blame his successor for ruining the peace he bequeathed to the nation and the world.

For Barry, it’s all about recognition. He envies Lincoln for his brilliance, wisdom and wit and the way he transformed the nation. He wants that for himself, but the act of governing is such hard work, beyond his ability and desire.

Yet, everything he does, freeing the slaves… oh snap, I didn’t mean “slaves,” I meant illegal immigrants, because everyone knows that if Barack Obama had been alive before the Civil War, he would have owned slaves himself — they would have made everything so much easier to do, and it’s not like they were people or anything.

In any case, everything he does, whether it is legalizing illegal immigrants, banning bullets, banning coal-fired plants, ignoring the law in so many little and large ways, all that “I am King Barack” stuff, has a masturbatory quality to it. He’s like that kid from that old episode of the Twilight Zone. You know it. The one where all the adults have to do as they are told or he wishes them into the cornfield.

In reality, the next 23 months will be all about him, how he sees himself and his legacy and his need to feel and be acknowledged as “transformational.” Curiously, it is his all-consuming need, and more curious still, he seems not to care one whit about the ramifications. If people have to die, then, it is a small price to pay for a world made over in his own image.

The key is to be around to help write history. It’s worked for him his entire life, why stop now? Barry is just waiting to put his thumb on the scale.

What power does Congress hold to prevent the next two years of presidential lawlessness? Surely, there is impeachment and the power of the purse. Yet these are wan weapons when compared to the power of the press, which has an almost cultlike investment in Barack Obama’s success. Scandal after scandal ignored, whilst constantly preaching everything is truly great, in not only America, but also the world.

It may be a pretend world, but it is so carefully constructed with media spit and spin, even those who should know better have become convinced. All brought to you by King Barry, and don’t you forget it.

Just look at what our king has done in his first 6 years. Through Michelle’s school lunch program, he has decided what our children eat. Did anyone vote for Michelle? Was she ever elected to anything?  Why does she get to decide school menus? Why is a celery stalk and one peanut (originally it was 2 peanuts and a celery stalk, but she didn’t like the optic), the new school lunch?

Next up is energy. The EPA is now putting the finishing touches on the plan to save the world from global warming by tripling Americans’ electric bills and throttling business by raising the cost of energy. Barry does not like coal and the EPA, ever obsequious to Barry’s wants, wants to shut down all coal-powered electrical generation in America.

Coal-fired plants produce almost 40% of the nation’s electricity, and Barry… er, I meant the EPA, wants to shut them down.  Not to worry, the plan is to replace all that electricity with… well, nothing.  (Fracking? The same crowd has plans for that too.)

The president is planning an executive order banning 5.56mm M855 ammunition (green tips), the round most often used in the AR-15. The AR-15 is a very popular weapon for sportsman, used primarily for target shooting and almost never for hunting. It is rarely used in the commission of crime. But ban the bullets and you ban the gun. There you have it — Popeil’s pocket gun control and if the public accepts this, then perhaps he will think of a way to ban 9mm ammo.

You know, “Hands up, don’t make me shoot. This is my last bullet.”

Most egregious is his impending takeover of the internet. Talk about finding solutions to things that aren’t broken. No one yet knows his plans for the future web — it’s finished, but it’s secret. There are, however, two things that will be in the soup. You can bet your bottom dollar there will be more fees and more taxes. Render unto Obama what is Obama’s — and it’s all Obama’s, so shut up and pay.

The FCC wants to control access to internet bandwidth, who gets it, when and how much, as well as pricing, taxes and fees. Did I mention taxes and fees? But what Barry really wants is to control content.  Political articles such as this, most assuredly will not be allowed and I will be sent to a reeducation camp, where life is beautiful all day long.

It’s better this way, as our king burns the world down, it’s best that no one calls attention to it.

We should all just be happy that we live in the time of Barack the Magnificent. A failure to acknowledge the greatness he has brought to this humble nation, or disagreeing with anything he does will result in sanctions and penalties, consequences and repercussions

Of course, as always, we will still be free to do as we are told.

King Barry… he’s generous that way.   (my emphasis)
