Fiorina Emerges in GOP Debate, But Trump Still Dominates Conversation

Other GOP debate, Trump, from www.caglecartoons.com # 168877By David A, Fahrenthold

The second Republican debate, a three-hour affair that veered from sophomoric insults to policy to late-night silliness, ended after 11 p.m. Wednesday, with an outsider candidate — former tech executive Carly Fiorina — challenging front-runner Donald Trump in a way few rivals have.

Fiorina, who hadn’t even been on the main stage for the August debate, jabbed Trump for his insults of her appearance, and for his record as a businessman. She pointed out that Trump had lost money in his famous Atlantic City casinos. “You ran up mountains of debt, as well as losses, using other people’s money,” Fiorina said. “Why should we trust you to manage the finances of this nation.”

Still, Trump dominated the night’s conversation — with other candidates often asked to react to things he’d said. He finished off in typical Trump fashion, promising in essence to give Americans more of everything they want.

“We will make this country greater than ever before. We’ll have more jobs. We’ll have more of everything,” Trump said in his closing statement. Read More..

Hillary Clinton Thinks You’re Stupid

Hillary Campaign Logo Reflects Dropping Poll Numbers from www.cagelcartoons.com # 168783By Katherine Timpf

. . . and guess what? If you support her, you are. Newsflash: Hillary Clinton thinks you’re stupid. And if you still support her, then you must be stupid, too.

During a speech at Northern Iowa University on Monday, Clinton actually had the audacity to declare that sexual-assault survivors have a “right to be believed.”

How noble! How feminist! Hey, Hillary, here’s an idea: If that’s really what you think, why don’t you start with believing Paula Jones, Juanita Broaddrick and all the other women who have accused your husband of sexual assault?

I mean, is she serious? Did Hillary really think that everyone would have just forgotten about these women? Perhaps she forgot about them herself. After all, their troubles never really seemed to be all that important to this trailblazing “feminist icon.”

One thing’s for sure: Clinton’s campaign has been full of hypocrisy. She’s been quick to slam anyone who opposes gay marriage, despite having declared in 2004 that “marriage is not just a bond, but a sacred bond between a man and a woman.”

Earth to Hillary! You cannot preach that sexual-assault survivors have a “right to be believed” when you yourself are married to an alleged rapist! Read More..

Jerry Brown to Republican Presidential Candidates: Welcome, ‘Merchants of Destruction!’

Posted on September 16th, 2015

Scientific pronouncements global warmingEDITOR”S COMMENT: I thought this comment was on target: Moonbeam Brown the best response to your global warming crap is it does not exist. It is nothing more them a liberal money making scam that has never been proven . By the way I thought you idiots changed the name to climate change which we all know happens four times a year naturally.

By Bloomberg

As he struggles to bring under control devastating wildfires that he blames at least partly on global warming, California Governor Jerry Brown has an un- welcome message for the Republican presidential candidates gathering in his state for a debate Wednesday.

“I would challenge these Republican presidential candidates to speak to what is certainly one of the fundamental issues of our time,” Brown said in an interview. “They fancy themselves defenders of life but they actually are willing merchants of destruction. I would like to see them be honest about climate change.”

… In a March 2014 Gallup poll  climate change ranked as the 14th most important issue out of 15 surveyed, topping only race relations among issues about which survey respondents said they cared a “great deal.”  The Republican presidential candidates are equally non-alarmist.

Democratic and Republican presidential candidates have backed away from policies such as subsidizing solar and wind power because they are unpopular with the public, said Tim Phillips, president of Americans for Prosperity, the free-market group backed by the billionaire Koch brothers. Regardless of the rhetoric around climate change, candidates know better than to advocate policies that drive up energy prices and stifle economic growth in the name of minimizing global warming, Phillips said in a telephone interview. Hillary’s Email Apology: Four Sentences, Four Clever Falsehoods

Posted on September 15th, 2015

Trusting Hillary emails from www.caglecartoons.com # 167222By Blake Neff

Hillary Clinton has finally, partially, thrown in the towel on her private email server, making a public apology Tuesday night where she admitted that she should have kept separate her public and private email accounts from the beginning. But even Clinton’s apology is actually filled with information that is misleading — or even known to be false.

In a statement on her website, Clinton’s campaign argues that only “four things you need to know about Hillary Clinton’s email use during her time at the State Department”.

These four straightforward sentences, though, include a great amount of sleight of hand or outright falsehoods:

Sentence “1. Hillary takes responsibility for her decision to use a personal account, and the challenges it has created” : Clinton’s claim to be “taking responsibility” for the email server is a stretch. Her apology has only come after six months of trying to deflect and dismiss criticism over her private emails, and even now it’s hardly a full apology. As the other three sentences in her statement show, Clinton is mostly just apologizing for confusing people and making them mistakenly believe she did anything wrong.

Sentence “2. Her use of a private email account was allowed under State Department rules” : This is a dramatic sleight of hand. The Department of State does allow employees to have private email accounts, and officials even have some leeway to use a private email for work (such as during an emergency). But Clinton didn’t partially rely on her private email: Rather, she used it exclusively for all of her business — a total contradiction of government policy as dictated by the National Archives and Records Administration, which controls record-keeping policies in federal agencies. America Will Pay the Price for Obama’s Iran Deal ‘Victory’

Nobel intentions Obama Iran legacy from www.caglecartoons.com # 168364By Michael Goodwin

The word “disconnect” is the appropriate way to describe the chasm between America’s government and its citizens. We all have our favorite examples, but none can match the events of last week.

On the eve of the 14th anniversary of the worst attack ever against our nation, President Obama celebrated a nuclear pact with Iran, an Islamic theocracy whose leader calls the United States “Satan” and joins crowds in chanting “Death to America.”

A mere 21 percent of the American public supports the deal and a bipartisan majority of the Senate opposes it. Yet the filibuster rule blocked the Senate from defeating it, allowing Obama to hail the “historic step forward.”

His “victory” is a disconnect that will live in infamy.

The deal is essentially a nonaggression pact with Iran, a form of appeasement that renders unfair any further comparisons to Neville Chamberlain. At least Hitler promised peace at the 1938 Munich conference after the British leader engineered a German annexation of parts of Czechoslovakia.

Iran’s supreme leader doesn’t bother to pretend he wants peace. On the contrary, he vows that the nuclear agreement will have zero impact on the policies of the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism. Read More..

50 US Spies “Revolt” Exposing How Their Reports Are Cooked to Manipulate the Public about ISIS

Posted on September 11th, 2015

Why Wasn’t I Warned Obama ISIS from www.caglecartoons.com # 154396EDITOR’S COMMENT: Frankly, while this “revolt” is rather shocking, we really shouldn’t be that surprised, based upon President Obama’s past and current efforts to spin every detail to his advantage. If that can’t be done, then the issue is conveniently overlooked with the aid of his adoring media, or he will comment that he is not familiar with the relevant issue. Just always remember that almost everything spoken by this administration is either an exaggeration, a falsehood, or a lie. And, now we see that our supposedly independent military has also been infected with this effort to mislead by “cherry-picking” our intelligence reports!

By Jay Syrmopoulos

More than 50 U.S. military intelligence analysts operating out of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) have staged what has been called a ‘revolt’ by intelligence professionals. The revolt comes after announcing that their intelligence reports were being altered and manipulated to fit the public narrative that the U.S. is winning the battle against ISIS.

The analysts are assigned to U.S. CENTCOM, but are officially employed by the Defense Intelligence Agency, the intelligence branch of the Pentagon.

“The cancer was within the senior level of the intelligence command,” one defense official told The Daily Beast.

The disturbing revelations came after more than 50 intelligence analysts filed formal complaints, causing the Pentagon’s inspector general to open an investigation into the matter.

According to the report by The Daily Beast:

Two senior analysts at CENTCOM signed a written complaint sent to the Defense Department inspector general in July alleging that the reports, some of which were briefed to President Obama, portrayed the terror groups as weaker than the analysts believe they are. The reports were changed by CENTCOM higher-ups to adhere to the administration’s public line that the U.S. is winning the battle against ISIS and al Nusra, al Qaeda’s branch in Syria, the analysts claim. More Than 90 Percent of Middle Eastern Refugees to U.S. on Food Stamps

Posted on September 11th, 2015

WAIMH Red ArrowBy Caroline May

More than 90 percent of recent refugees from Middle Eastern nations are on food stamps and nearly 70 percent receive cash assistance, according to government data.

According to Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) data highlighted by the immigration subcommittee staff of — chairman of the Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest — in FY 2013, 91.4 percent of Middle Eastern refugees (accepted to the U.S. between 2008-2013) received food stamps, 73.1 percent were on Medicaid or Refugee Medical Assistance and 68.3 percent were on cash welfare.

The high welfare rates among Middle Eastern refugees comes as the Obama administration considers increasing the number of refugees — who are immediately eligible for public benefits — to the U.S., particularly Syrian refugees. Read More..

The President Is Willing to Gamble on U.S. Security for the Sake of His Personal Legacy by Importing Prisoners from Guantanamo

Posted on September 11th, 2015

Camp DeltaBy Pat Roberts and Tim Scott

White House press secretary Josh Earnest said recently that the Obama administration is in the “final stages of drafting a plan to safely and responsibly” close the detention facilities at Guantanamo Bay. Our home states of Kansas and South Carolina are being considered as potential sites for housing the enemy combatants transferred from Guantanamo. Defense Department officials visited Fort Leavenworth, Kan., on Aug. 14 and will be visiting the Naval Brig in Charleston, S.C., to survey the facilities.

When Barack Obama won the White House in 2008, he announced that Guantanamo would be closed in the first year of his presidency. This was a political promise with little regard for recidivism rates, the continuing conflicts in Iraq or Afghanistan, and most important, America’s national security. So it is fortunate that the deadline was not met.

But throughout his presidency, Mr. Obama has prioritized personal legacy over the safety and security of the nation—and he is still pursuing an effort to move the terrorists at Guantanamo into our backyards.

The notion that Kansas, South Carolina or any other state would be an ideal home for terrorist detainees is preposterous. Transferring these prisoners to the mainland puts the well-being of states in danger, posing security risks to the public and wasting taxpayer dollars. The detention facilities at Guantanamo are doing a fantastic job of holding these terrorists. Read More..

Obama Kept Key Iran Nuclear Deal Details from Congress, House Republicans Allege

Posted on September 10th, 2015

AlertEDITOR’S COMMENT: Finally, the House Republicans are trying to assert themselves on behalf of the American people, partly as a result of a ‘full-scale” revolt against John Boehner, as he was not planning to fight the Iran deal any longer. In other words, the leadership was willing to cave in again. Now, we have to hope that Senate Republican leader McConnell does not ‘wimp out’ in the face of heavy pressure from the White House. Even if these tactics don’t succeed, the Republican leadership needs to show conclusively that the favorable votes on this Obama Iran deal are all Democratic.

By Stephen Dinan and Anjali Shastry

GOP’s last-ditch effort to derail agreement could create legal hurdle for president.

House Republicans will attempt a last-ditch effort to derail the Iran nuclear agreement by asserting President Obama has withheld key details of the deal from Congress, meaning the 60-day period for Capitol Hill’s review hasn’t even begun, GOP lawmakers said Wednesday.

The move could create a legal hurdle for President Obama, who argues he has power to move ahead with lifting U.S. sanctions on Iran as of Sept. 17, when he deems the clock runs out on Congress‘ review period.

“Many of us feel this is a deeply flawed agreement. We think it’s going to endanger our national security, we think it’s going to endanger the security of our friends and allies in the region, and we’re just looking for any way that we can to derail this agreement,” said Rep. Chris Stewart, Utah Republican, emerging from a closed-door meeting of the House GOP where details were being hashed out. Read More..

Iran Deal: Khamenei Says Israel Destroyed in 25 Years

Posted on September 10th, 2015

WAIMH Red ArrowEDITOR’S COMMENT: Do these comments sound to you like the comments of someone that you would want to negotiate anything, never mind a disastrous nuclear weapons deal with? And, don’t ignore his comments that Iran will have nothing to with the “Great Satan’, the United States, in the future. Wasn’t the likelihood of future agreements and potential trade agreements with Iran a main reason for ‘reaching out’ to Iran in the beginning. Now, it looks like most, if not all, of the trade will go to other western countries, and not the U.S. Nice going, Mr. President. As I’ve mentioned many times, you really do have to wonder which country President Obama believes he is representing, if any!

By Times of Israel

Israel will not survive the next 25 years, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Wednesday, making a series of threatening remarks published online.

In a quote posted to Twitter by Khamenei’s official account, Khamenei addresses Israel, saying, “You will not see next 25 years,” and adds that the Jewish state will be hounded until it is destroyed.

The quote comes against a backdrop of a photograph apparently showing the Iranian leader walking on an Israeli flag painted on a sidewalk.

Khamenei’s statements also reaffirmed his view that the US is a “Great Satan” and that there would be no detente with Washington beyond the nuclear talks. Read More..
