Senate Committee Seeks Email Facts from Clinton’s Tech Company

Hillary Detour emails investigation from www.caglecartoons.com # 167271By Greg Gordon, Marisa Taylor and Anita Kumar

The chairman of the Senate’s homeland security committee has asked a small, 13-year-old Denver technology company that managed tens of thousands of emails for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to describe what measures it took to safeguard national security information.

The FBI, which has embarked on its own scrutiny of Clinton’s private server, also has shown interest in the company, Platte River Networks, which began managing Clinton’s emails in 2013, according to published reports.

McClatchy reported Tuesday that two emails found on Clinton’s server were classified as “Top Secret,” heightening concerns that Clinton may have improperly shared classified information or stored them on vulnerable Internet equipment that might be open to hacking.

“Given that the server was used to conduct official State Department business, questions have been raised regarding whether classified information was stored on the private server,” Republican Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin wrote Platte’s president in a letter Tuesday. He said he also wants to know “if that data was secure, who had access to that material and whether all official documents were appropriately preserved.” Read More..

When Are These People Going to Jail?

Posted on August 13th, 2015

IRS lost emails by Nate Beeler, The Columbus DispatchBy Investor’s Business Daily

After a year’s stalling by the IRS, the Senate Finance Committee has released its bipartisan report, denouncing the tax-collection agency’s partisanship and incompetence. When are these people going to jail?

The Senate report wasn’t entirely satisfactory, given that its criticism was primarily in the compromise language of “gross mismanagement” to describe the agency’s targeting of Tea Party dissident groups.

Using legal technicalities to silence and repress political dissent under the color of the nation’s most feared enforcement agency isn’t mismanagement. It’s a crime.

It’s incompatible with democracy and it shatters public confidence in the rule of law. It’s the very crime the State Department is now condemning in Venezuela: the use of legal technicalities to halt popular opposition candidates from running for office. Until now, this kind of activity has had no precedent in our country, and it must be stopped before it becomes the standard. Read More..

Clinton Hands Email Server and Thumb Drive Over To FBI

Posted on August 12th, 2015

Inspecting Hillary emails from www.caglecartoons.com # 166877EDITOR’S COMMENT: IT’S ABOUT TIME! The ordinary citizen would have had the FBI show up at their front door over a year ago to seize her server. And, is it just me, or does it seem rather curious that Hillary just signed a document under penalty of perjury on Monday and almost immediately, the DOJ threatens to seize the server and thumb drives that her attorney had? Is it possible that this timing was executed, so that Hillary Clinton would be painted into a corner, if she continued to lie, now under the threat of committing perjury!

By Blake Neff

Hillary Clinton is giving the FBI her server containing thousands of emails from her time as Secretary of State, her presidential campaign confirmed Tuesday night.

Clinton “directed her team to give her email server that was used during her tenure as (Secretary of State) to the Department of Justice, as well as a thumb drive containing copies of her emails already provided to the State Department,” her spokesman, Nick Merrill, told CNN in a statement. “She pledged to cooperate with the government’s security inquiry, and if there are more questions, we will continue to address them.”

The decision comes just hours after news emerged that the Intelligence Community Inspector General confirmed Clinton’s email server included at least two emails that contained information classified as “Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information” both before and after Clinton’s tenure. That revelation directly contradicted Clinton’s initial claim that her private email server did not contain any top secret information. Read More..

Hillary Campaign Poster

Hillary CampaignBy Monte Pelerin

When a campaign poster like this begins to gain popularity, perhaps it is wise to reconsider your strategy or change your candidate.

Apparently this poster is already available on the internet. No doubt creative people will move beyond this idea, especially if there is a market for similar political paraphernalia.

At this point it is painful, even for a politics-hater and no fan of crooks, to watch Hillary slowly twist in the wind. She is out there without likability and with a cornucopia of negatives. It will be interesting to see how she bows out of this predicament. Again, I am predicting “health issues” to be the excuse.     (my emphasis)

Kerry: If Congress Rejects Iran Deal Then We’re Screwing The Ayatollah

Posted on August 11th, 2015

WAIMH Red ArrowEDITOR’S COMMENT: So, exactly whose side is John Kerry on? With each passing day, our Secretary of state seems to make remarks that indicate he could care less about our national security, but is vitally concerned about the feelings of our enemies, and their possible future political standing. I knew that he was a terrible negotiator, but didn’t realize that he now was more concerned about how Iran reacts to our discussion of this agreement, than how the American feel. In fact, can you find any quote from John Kerry recently that would reflect the concerns of Congress and the majority of the American people’s opposition to this horrible deal?

By Aaron Goldstein

Get a load of what John Kerry told Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic the other day about how he sees a Congressional rejection of the Iran nuclear deal:

“The ayatollah constantly believed that we are untrustworthy, that you can’t negotiate with us, that we will screw them,” Kerry said. “This”—a congressional rejection—“will be the ultimate screwing.” He went on to argue that “the United States Congress will prove the ayatollah’s suspicion, and there’s no way he’s ever coming back. He will not come back to negotiate. Out of dignity, out of a suspicion that you can’t trust America. America is not going to negotiate in good faith. It didn’t negotiate in good faith now, would be his point.”

Kerry also said that his chief Iranian interlocutor, the foreign minister, Javad Zarif, and Zarif’s boss, the (relatively) reformist president, Hassan Rouhani, would be in “serious trouble” at home if the deal falls through. Read More..

Obama: My Way — or You’re a Traitor

Obama Iran speech from www.caglecartoons.com # 167296By Kyle Smith

Even for President Obama, it was an outrageous statement, and he needs to apologize to the nation for it.

On Wednesday, at American University, Obama said the genocidal fascist freaks in Iran who chant “death to America” are “making common cause with the Republican caucus” for opposing the deal.

It was a gratuitous, unsupportable, vile insult. Remember six months ago, when the entire press corps had a convulsion because an ex-mayor of New York who hasn’t held public office in 14 years said, “I do not believe the president loves America”? The media demanded Rudy Giuliani apologize. They couldn’t talk about anything else for days.

Now the sitting president of the United States says the entire Republican caucus not only doesn’t love America but doesn’t like America, even hates America. But not only that — craves death for America. By logical extension, anyone who agrees with the Republican caucus on the Iran deal also must be in “common cause” with the “death to America” savages.

Donald Trump 2015 DebateBy Daniel J. Flynn

Media bias, even from Fox, can only help The Donald.

Conservatives pick Donald Trump for president because the media picks on him.

Even the Fox News referees went Matthew Dellavedova hard on the billionaire at the basketball arena last night. Megyn Kelly lambasted the Donald for calling certain women “fat pigs” and “slobs.” Bret Baier raised his history of supporting “liberal”—fighting words in that crowd—policies. Chris Wallace, pointing to Trump companies declaring bankruptcy four times, asked: “Why should we trust you to run the nation’s business?”

But the slings and arrows, which didn’t kill the candidate, likely make him stronger.

From Richard Nixon through George W. Bush, the intensity of the Right’s support for a politician correlates most closely not to his commitment to conservatism but to the degree of displeasure the politician causes journalists. You can impose price controls or attempt to foist illegal-immigration amnesty on the American people. Just don’t turn Chris Matthews’ sneer into a smile, receive a party invitation from Maureen Dowd, or allow something halfway nice about you to appear at the Huffington Post Read More..

Initial Comments about the First Republican Debate

Facebook 2016 Republican Debate

EDITOR’S COMMENT: Here is a sampling of some initial comments from various political writers and commentators after the end of the Republican Debate:

Republican Debate Veers between Two Subjects: America and Trump – Washington Post

“Businessman Donald Trump lived up to his sharp-edged reputation during the first Republican debate of the 2016 presidential campaign, sparring with moderators and other candidates as everyone else on a 10-person stage struggled to stand out. Trump became the center of the debate’s attention from the very beginning, when he was the only candidate who refused to forswear the idea of running a third-party campaign against the Republican party, if he could not be its nominee. At times, the other nine candidates on stage debated serious policies—immigration, the nuclear deal with Iran, government surveillance, the future of Social Security. And then, at times, the debate veered to Trump himself: a sharp-edged candidate who can say things that would torpedo anybody else on stage. In one of the non-Trump-related exchanges, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Paul (got into a heated argument about the limits of government surveillance during Thursday night’s first major Republican debates, in an exchange that showcased two competing poles of Republican thought about security and privacy.”

FBI Investigation of Hillary’s Emails Is ‘Criminal Probe’

Posted on August 6th, 2015

Hillary’s email scandal from www.caglecartoons.com # 165963By Jamie Schram, Geoff Earle and Laura Italian

The FBI investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s unsecured e-mail account is not just a fact-finding venture it’s a criminal probe, sources told The Post on Wednesday.

The feds are investigating to what extent Clinton relied on her home server and other private devices to send and store classified documents, according to a federal source with knowledge of the inquiry.

“It’s definitely a criminal probe,” said the source. “I’m not sure why they’re not calling it a criminal probe.

“The DOJ [Department of Justice] and FBI can conduct civil investigations in very limited circumstances,” but that’s not what this is, the source stressed. “In this case, a security violation would lead to criminal charges. Maybe DOJ is trying to protect her campaign.” Read More..
